OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2015. China has become the 16th World Trade Organization (WTO) member to formally accept the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA). Ambassador Jianhua Yu submitted China’s instrument of acceptance of the TFA to the WTO Director-General, Roberto Azev?do, on 4 September 2015.

The IRU welcomes China’s ratification of the TFA, particularly in light of China’s imminent accession to the TIR Convention. This decision is fully in line with the adoption last year of the IRU Resolution on the WTO Bali Agreement, calling on governments to ratify the TFA and achieve its objectives by implement key UN trade facilitation instruments, notably the Harmonization and TIR Conventions.
