OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2015. Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Alexander Galushka, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East, signed today in Vladivostok the Agreement of Intent within the project for constructing the Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP), as part of the Eastern Economic Forum.

The Agreement stipulates the Ministry’s support to Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk (customer for the Amur GPP construction) in obtaining the residency in the newly-developed area of accelerated socioeconomic growth in the Svobodnensky District, the Amur Region. Moreover, the customer will be backed up when dealing with municipal and governmental authorities as part of the project.

According to the Agreement, Gazprom is going to create about 3 thousand jobs at the Amur GPP that will be Russia’s biggest and one of the world’s biggest gas processing plants.

Background

The area of accelerated socioeconomic growth is defined as a part of a Russian constituent entity (as per the Russian Government Decree) with an exceptional legal environment for the entrepreneurship and other business activities.

The design capacity of the Amur GPP reaches 49 billion cubic meters of gas annually. Besides, the GPP will merge with the world’s biggest helium plant. The GPP is going to be supplied, through the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, with multi-component gas from the Yakutia and the Irkutsk gas production centers being developed by Gazprom as part of the Eastern Gas Program.

Nearly 15 thousand employees are expected to be engaged during the climax of the Amur GPP construction.
