Waterside proposes west coast LPG terminal

OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2015. Waterside Energy is proposing to build an LPG export terminal in Longview, Washington, capable of exporting as many as four VLGC cargoes per month, the company said this week.

The planned facility, which would receive approximately 75,000 b/d of both propane and butane for export, would serve markets in Asia, but the lifter was not announced. The LPG export terminal would be in addition to a previously announced 45,000 b/d refinery project at the same location that would process both crude and seed oils.

The site has access to rail facilities. LPG feeding the facility would most likely be railed from western Canada.

Currently western Canadian LPG exports are shipped out of the Ferndale, Washington, export terminal. Western Canadian producers are seeking additional takeaway options for propane and butane production amid a glut in the region that sent propane prices into negative territory earlier this year.
