OREANDA-NEWS. September 04, 2015. Lincoln U.S. sales were up 6 percent in August versus last year, marking the luxury brand’s best August since 2008.

“Lincoln had a very good month, especially when you consider that we are comparing ourselves to last year when Labor Day weekend – which typically provides a strong boost in vehicle sales – happened to fall within the “August” total,” said U.S. Sales Analyst Erich Merkle.

According to Merkle, Lincoln’s sales strength came from its SUVs.

“Lincoln MKC delivered a strong performance with sales up 37 percent over last year while Lincoln Navigator sales were up 79 percent,” he said.

The all-new Lincoln MKX is in tight supply, turning in just 18 days on dealer lots. He explained that sales of MKX should increase nicely, as 2016 MKX inventory becomes more readily available.

“I’m looking forward to the fourth quarter to see what the MKX can do once we build up our inventory and get more product to our dealers,” said Merkle.
