OREANDA-NEWS. Russia's AKME-Engineering has received a US patent for its SVBR-100 metal-cooled integral fast reactor. The company said in a statement it wants to protect its intellectual property as it prepares for the construction of a prototype SVBR-100 unit at Dimitrovgrad in the Ulyanovsk region. The trademark has already been registered in the European Union, South Korea and China and the company holds 18 patents related to the project in Russia, it said. The prototype SVBR-100 unit is scheduled to come online in 2019.
