OREANDA-NEWS. Ms. Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), will visit Indonesia on September 1–2, 2015.

During her visit, Ms. Lagarde will meet with President Joko Widodo, Vice President Jusuf Kalla, and senior officials, including Bank Indonesia Governor Agus Martowardojo, Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, and Minister of Finance Bambang Brodjonegoro. Ms. Lagarde will also meet parliamentarians, as well as representatives of other sectors of society, including women leaders and university students.

Ms. Lagarde will participate in a high-level regional conference in Jakarta on the Future of Asia’s Finance: Financing for Development 2015, organized by Bank Indonesia and the IMF to discuss new financing modalities for the region’s dynamic emerging market economies. The visit also presents an opportunity to exchange views on recent economic developments, Indonesia’s prospects, and its role as an emerging power both in the region and globally. In addition, she will have a townhall meeting with university students in the Jakarta area during her stay.
