OREANDA-NEWS. Majestic Wine PLC, the UK's largest wine specialist with 211 stores and the owner of Naked Wines, the online crowd funded wine retailer, announces that Naked Wines has launched a "Text for Wine" service, the first of its kind in the wine world, giving customers the option of ordering wine via a simple text message.

From now on, Naked's 150,000 UK customers, also known as 'Angels', can order their case of wine simply by sending Naked Wines a text which then gets added to the order system. There's no additional charge for the service, other than standard network rates.

As part of Naked Wines constant drive to think of smarter ways for customers to buy their wine the idea was generated by a Naked Wines employee. If the pilot UK programme proves successful it will also be rolled out to Naked Wines' US and Australian operations.
