Pulkovo Airport entered in the top five European airports on passenger service quality
OREANDA-NEWS. In II quarter of 2015, Pulkovo Airport St. Petersburg ranked fourth among European airports for passenger satisfaction with airport service quality. The ranking is based on a quarterly survey of the Airports Council International (ACI).
95 airports in Europe took part in the survey. St. Petersburg airport entered in the top five not only for Overall Satisfaction of air travelers with airport service quality, but also for a number of airport key service areas. Based on passengers’ evaluation Pulkovo ranked fifth in ease of connections. The airport is on the third place in such categories as access by ground transportation, efficiency and courtesy of check-in staff, thoroughness of pre-flight inspection.
In addition, according to the survey results, Pulkovo is the second airport in Europe for passengers’ satisfaction with business lounges services quality, comfort of waiting and boarding gates areas and the general cleanliness of the terminal.
Above all, passengers appreciated the broad variety of available cafes and restaurants at St. Petersburg airport: in the “Eating Facilities” category Pulkovo came first among 95 European airports.
The ACI’s Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Survey is based on regular surveys of passengers at the participating airports. The questionnaire proposes to rate the airport services on a scale from one to five on 34 points, covering particular airport services. Each of the airports participating in ASQ Program has to follow individual Sample Plans and survey their passengers following ACI’s rules and guidelines to be representative of their traffic and passengers’ demographics. Based on the survey results airports are ranked for each category of service, as well as in the overall ranking of passenger satisfaction.
At the end of 2014, Pulkovo Airport became the winner of Airport Service Quality Awards among European airports in the nomination “Best Improvement for Europe” rated by Airports Council International.
Airports Council International was founded in 1991. ACI represents airports’ interests with governments and international organizations such as ICAO, develops standards, policies and recommended practices for airports, and provides information and training opportunities to raise standards around the world.
