"PSMA Rus" is resuming the assembly of Peugeot and Citroen sedans after almost 4-month of interruption
OREANDA-NEWS. The Kaluga auto plant "PSMA Rus" resumes the production of sedan Peugeot 408 and Citroen C4 Sedan after a four-month break. The press service of the company informed the agency "Tass", by recalling that the production of these models was stopped on April 27th.
"The staff that is involved in the line of sedans will return from idle gradually in the period from August 17 to 31st", - explained in the company. Additional days of downtime are paid to employees in the amount of 2/3 of the average wage, as prescribed by law. During the two-week paid leave the employees received a collective average salary.
Earlier it was reported that the company will launch the assembly line on July10th, but the resumption of production was postponed for another six months - until August 17th. As it was noted, "in the background of the automotive market that remains weak, and because of sufficient stocks of products to be sold the plant "PSMA Rus" extended a simple on line C-segment sedan to August 2nd in the summer period, from August 3-16 at the plant it will be a collective vacation, during which it is planned to carry out maintenance and adjustment of the equipment".
But the production of Mitsubishi SUVs at the plant in Kaluga has been suspended only for a period of collective vacation from August 3rd to 16th, and now it also resumed, noted at the plant.
The press service reported that "PSMA Rus" by 2017 plans to increase the localization of production in the line of sedans from 35% to 50%, which will reduce the production and logistics costs. The plant is ready to increase the production of cars, once it will be created a favorable situation in the market, noted in the enterprise.
"PSMA Rus" – is a joint venture of automaker Mitsubishi Motors and PSA Peugeot Citroen, which is operating in Kaluga since 2010. The design capacity is 125 thousand cars per year. In the Kaluga plant it is produced models Citroen C4 Sedan, Peugeot 408, Mitsubishi Outlander and the 2016 Pajero Sport.
