Chelyabinsk and Pervouralsk pipe plants supplied 1,079,900 tons of steel pipes to customers
OREANDA-NEWS. In the 1st haf-year 2015, Chelyabinsk and Pervouralsk pipe plants, ChelPipe Group’s pipe divisions, supplied 1,079,900 tons of steel pipes to customers, up 21.6% on the same period in 2014. The 190,000-ton increase was due to ChelPipe Group’s growing pipe supplies to the Russian market.
From January to June, ChelPipe Group shipped 537,800 tons of welded pipes to customers, up 43.5% on 1H2014. Of that amount, large-bore pipes accounted for 514,000 tons, an increase of 44% on the same period in 2014. The 158,000-ton increase was due to major fuel and energy projects, where the company took part, including the Power of Siberia, Southern Corridor, Bovanenkovo-Ukhta, Yamal LNG, Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent, the second stage, and supplies to meet the repair and operational needs of existing pipelines.
Over the six months of this year, the company sold 533,000 tons of seamless pipes, an increase of 5% from the same period in 2014 (+27,300 tons). The higher sales were driven by more robust OCTG pipe shipments to Russian oil and gas companies.
1H2015 saw the ChelPipe Group’s supplies to the Russian market rise by 28.5% to 964,800 tons, up 213,800 tons. CIS shipments declined by 33.4% to 70,300 tons - a general trend in the sector as Russian pipe companies have to make up for the fall in imports by increasing supplies to the Russian market. Admittedly, the company continued to increase supplies to non-CIS countries. ChelPipe Group’s share of the aggregate shipments of Russian pipe manufacturers equaled 19%.
