OREANDA-NEWS. Shvabe Holding will create a closed-type collimating sight having compact dimensions and minimum weight.

The new product of Vologda optical and mechanical plant (VOMZ JSC), a Shvabe Holding's enterprise, will get a leak-tight all-metal casing. It will reliably protect the optical part of the sight from the ingress of dirt, dust and drizzling rain.

"The use of high-technology metal alloys will enable our developers to reduce the sight weight (including bracket) up to 150 grams. It will make the device an ideal engineering solution for hunting and sport long barrelled gun of minor calibre. Our new product will not become being in need of correction of the image sharpness or elimination of parallactic distortions. Therefore, it will be demanded in dynamically types of hunting, shooting on transitory objects, sport shooting and strike-ball", told Nickolai Rakovich, Shvabe's deputy general director for R&D and innovative development.

The new collimating sight will be provided with a handle being responsible for turning the sight on and off as well as the degree of intensity of the sighting illumination of the Point type. The operating time of the product in normal operating conditions and at the medium brightness level will be equal to about 70 hours.

At present VOMZ JSC's specialists have procedded to creation of a developmental prototype of the new collimating sight for conduction of full-scale testing in the conditions of limit impact and thermal loads.
