OREANDA-NEWS. AvtoVAZ began to develop the modernized Lada Granta and Kalina. At this moment the plant is working on style and design of restyled Lada Kalina, as well as preparing for the construction of demonstration models of the updated model, writes the magazine "AvtoSreda".

As for the update of Lada Granta, it was already carried out its upgraded version in accordance with new consumer properties; it was developed and issued design documentation. In the near future AvtoVAZ plans to produce and send to the tests its prototypes of new "Granta", it is conducted the nomination of suppliers and development of production technology, the adoption of schedules of suppliers, approval and start of tools.

How Granta and Kalina will be changed and when the updated models will go on sale – there is no information yet. According to "AvtoSreda", for all current "Lada" it is provided facelift in the new corporate X-shaped style of brand. Last year, a schematic representation of the updated models was shown during a speech of the president of AvtoVAZ, Bo Andersson.

In mid-June, Bo Andersson said that the modernized Lada Kalina will be available this year. However, later it was published a schedule of new Lada. According to it, the production of restyled "Granta" is scheduled for the end of 2016, refreshed "Kalina" – in the middle of 2017.
