Moldovan-Korean consultations on Cyber Security Programme development
OREANDA-NEWS. August 18, 2015. The information technologies development creates new opportunities and facilitates the economic progress of society, but exposes us to a new range of risks and attacks targeting the security. In order to develop a comprehensive programme on ensuring cyber security in the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications had a meeting with the representatives of the Information Society Development Institute of South Korea. During the meeting, there were presented the interim results of the Moldovan-Korean project on consultancy offering in the process of the Cyber Security Programme developement.
The Deputy Minister of ITC, Vitalie Tarlev, expressed his gratitude to the Korean experts for their effort within the mission, specifying that “for the Republic of Moldova it is very important to develop a complex and comprehensive programme on ensuring cyber security. In this respect, we rely on the support and expertise of specialists from South Korea in developing a programme adjusted to current realities as well as in drafting a well-structured business plan.”
In his turn, In-Soo Kang, the researcher and project manager of the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) reiterated the openness of the institution he represents to cooperate for the development of ITC policies, pointing out that “the purpose of the consultancy mission is to adapt Korean experience in the cyber security field to the needs of the Republic of Moldova. We hope the proposals and prepared documents shall contribute to the development of competitive policies necessary to ensure a safe use of IT and cyberspace.”
It should be recalled that public discussion on Cyber Security assurance Programme were initiated during the ministerial session of ICT Summit 2015 in the Republic of Moldova. In this regard, the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications is the beneficiary of a joint project launched with the Information Society Development Institute of South Korea on the development of Cyber Security Programme for the Republic of Moldova, which takes place in the period July 1 to September 24, 2015,.
