Tele2 and Mordovia’s government sign agreement on cooperation in telecom development
The agreement has been signed by Tele2 CEO Mikhail Noskov and Chairman of the Republic of Mordovia government Vladimir Sushkov. The document is seeking to promote cooperation between Tele2 and the Republic of Mordovia government in mobile services development, increase investment into the region’s infrastructure and implement joint social and economic projects.
According to the document, the Republic of Mordovia is considered as a priority region for the launch of new-generation networks and providing access to broadband Internet. The singing of the document also solves an important social task – expansion of the network coverage and capacity to provide high-quality and low-cost mobile services. The investment project implies both large-scale construction and upgrade of the existing network infrastructure.
On 12 August 2015, Tele2 opened a new contact centre in Saransk. It integrated all information and data services of Tele2 in the Volga District and Central Russia. Operators in Saransk now process queries 8.5 mn subscribers from Nizhniy Novgorod, Kirov, Penza, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Vladimir, Tver, Ryazan, Kostroma, Tula, Smolensk and Kaluga regions as well as Udmurtia and Chuvash republics, republics of Mordovia, Tatarstan and Mariy El.
There are 420 people working in the Saransk contact centre. Following the launch of the Tele2 in Moscow and Moscow Region it will provide services to the capital’s subscribers and have the personnel increased up to 550 employees.

Besides, in 2H15 the company will continue investing funds into 3G/4G networks rollout, support initiatives of authorities aimed at the economic and social sphere in the republic.”
Vladimir Volkov, head of the Republic of Mordovia:
“Business development and inflow of investment are very important for the economy of the republic. This is especially important with the football championship to be held in 2018 – Saransk will also host the games of world football competition. We have to be sure that its guests will get world-class mobile services.”
