OREANDA-NEWS. August 14, 2015. With the purpose to finish the compilation of the complete sequence of national accounts of the Russian Federation and to fulfill the recommendations of international organizations, according to the article 4 of Federal law № 86-FZ “On the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (Bank of Russia)” of July 10, 2002 the Bank of Russia in the cooperation with Rosstat worked out the compilation methodology for financial accounts of the system of national accounts (SNA) and compiled for the first time the annual financial accounts and the sectoral financial balance sheets of the system of national accounts of the Russian Federation for 2012 and 2013.

The financial accounts describe the transactions on acquiring and selling of the financial assets and liabilities for the certain period of time. Financial accounts data supplement the SNA current and capital accounts information, they form the complex basis for relevant analysis of real and financial assets flows in the economy, for the study of volumes, structure and types of financial resources, the estimation of the risk exposure level for particular sectors.

The financial accounts and the financial balance sheets are compiled according to the 2008 SNA. The main sources of information for the financial accounts and the financial balance sheets are monetary statistics, the international investment position of the Russian Federation, government finance statistics, annual financial statements, federal statistical survey reports and securities database.

The financial balance sheets for 01.01.2012, 01.01.2013 and 01.01.2014 and the financial accounts for 2012 and 2013 are published in rubric ‘Financial accounts and Financial balance sheets’ of subsection ‘Macroeconomic statistics’ of section ‘Statistics’ on the official website of the Bank of Russia and in section ‘National accounts’ on the official website of Rosstat. Later new data will be published regularly.
