Bosch highlights complete line solutions for food and non-food producers
“Depending on the level of automation required, Bosch offers stand-alone machines as well as complete system solutions from the scalable and adaptable Module++ concept to high-end Seamless Systems,” explained Martin Tanner, director business development and marketing, product division confectionery and food, Bosch Packaging Technology.
From stand-alone solutions to high-end systems
For manufacturers seeking increased output, Bosch will present its redesigned processed cheese conditioner that can be used either as a stand-alone solution or as a part of a modular line. Capable of handling uninterrupted production of a wide range of cheese recipes up to 1,000 individually wrapped slices per minute, the DCS 1000 machine ensures a perfect and precise slice shape even at slice weights as little as 13 grams. As a result, manufacturers have the flexibility to quickly adjust to changing market demands and secure significant material and product savings.
For producers taking their first step with automation or bringing automation to the next level, Bosch will present its flexible Module++ concept, which links the company’s proven standard modules for customized processing and packaging solutions. At FachPack, as a part of its biscuit packaging line, Bosch will showcase the Transver SDI product distribution system integrated with a low-pressure Pack Feeder 4 and Pack 401 horizontal flow wrapper. Visitors at the booth will also see the new Paloma D3 feed placer and top loader as a part of the Module++ line.
For high-speed production, Bosch’s Seamless Systems feature high-end technology that takes manufacturers to the peak of productivity, eliminating bottlenecks and reaching maximum overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). For example, the Two-in-One biscuit packaging system enables changeovers from slug to pile packs, and vice versa, in less than three minutes, and is ideal for manufacturers requiring high output.
Double performance for secondary biscuit packaging on compact footprint
For confectionery and biscuit manufacturers looking for high performing secondary packaging solutions, Bosch will showcase the Elematic 2000 wrap-around case packer. Serving two independent infeed systems, this machine handles two times 200 units. Thereby performance doubles while nearly keeping the compact footprint of one single standard case packer. With its integrated control cabinet the machine easily fits into confined space conditions. Designed for handling smaller products, such as flow wraps, folding boxes and differently wrapped chocolate tablets, the Elematic 2000 case packer provides multiple pack styles, including tray, classic full wrap-around and two-part, shelf-ready packaging.
Entry-level bag sealing equipment with high-quality standards
For both start-up and expanding European food and non-food manufacturers, with small production volumes, Bosch will feature two semi-automated band sealers from the Doboy line. The machines seal pre-made bags and provide an economical alternative for low quantity applications – at the highest quality standards. The band sealers can be used for the smallest goods, weighing only a few grams, up to large volumes of several kilos, and can be customized according to customers’ requirements. The Doboy series is widely used in food packaging as well as medical applications due to the comparably low investment required and the ability to adjust its parameters precisely according to bag sealing needs.
New software solution for serialization
According to the growing requirements of pharmaceutical serialization and connected industry, Bosch will also showcase at FachPack 2015 its new Connected Packaging Industry (CPI) solution. The company offers machine modules and software either as an integrated application from a single source or as an IT solution combined with hardware from third-party suppliers. The flexible system meets all serialization requirements and ensures a reliably connected serialization process.
A helping hand from start to finish
At the show, Bosch will also present its comprehensive after-sales services portfolio. Highlighting the recent launch of the Remote Service Portal, which was first launched at Achema earlier this year. The new customized platform for the packaging and processing industry, provides access to Bosch`s global customer-support experts. The remote access is suited to machine set-up, preparation of field service visits, remote diagnostics, troubleshooting in case of machinery downtime, or software updates.
Visitors to Bosch’s booth at FachPack will also be able to learn about the company’s internal and external product protection valves and applicator solutions for coffee packaging. The modular design of the valve applicator enables easy integration with new or existing packaging machines, for instance vertical baggers and horizontal flow wrappers, and even on non-Bosch machines, ensuring full system competence.
Show attendees are invited to meet with Bosch experts at FachPack 2015, Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, Germany, September 29 to October 1, Hall 3A/3A-337, and attend live demonstrations of the Elematic 2000 wrap-around case packer and Doboy band sealers.
