OREANDA-NEWS. August 12, 2015. Swedish Ambassador to Moldova Ingrid Tersman today had a farewell meeting with Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet.

The premier highly appreciated the activity of the ambassador and thanked her for attitude and involvement in implementing the reforms in different sectors. "Thanks for the contribution to developing the bilateral relations and boosting the political dialogue between Moldova and Sweden. We hope to further keep and develop this partnership which is important for the future of our bilateral relation. In my mission - implementation of the Association Agreement - I need support", Strelet said.

The officials discussed the government's priorities: macro-financial stability, fight against corruption, justice reform, ensuring energy security, social protection of citizens, administrative-territorial reform. "We are determined to act relying on transparency and streamlining to get concrete results for the benefit of citizens", Strelet added.

Ingrid Tersmana appreciated the Moldovan authorities' efforts in implementing the Association Agreement, as well as other major projects meant to modernise Moldova. The official reiterated the need to continue the reforms, especially, in the justice and fight against corruption, as well as improvement of investment climate. "I am sure that this government, headed by you, will manage to bring change in Moldova, ensure stability in banking sector, regain confidence of development partners. Moldova has potential and we support you", Tersman said.

Sweden is among the most important development partners of Moldova. Presently, the Swedish government is financing projects in the country amounting to 37 million euros. Tersman was appointed as Swedish Ambassador to Moldova in 2010, along with the opening of a diplomatic mission in Chisinau.
