OREANDA-NEWS. SSE has appointed long-serving executive Kevin Greenhorn as Managing Director of its SSE Enterprise Energy Solutions business.

The announcement coincides with the first anniversary of the acquisition of the Energy Solutions Group (ESG) by SSE’s Enterprise division.

SSE Enterprise invested in the energy solutions sector to secure an unrivalled position in the market as the only major energy firm supporting businesses with energy use, energy management, construction and telecoms.  

Kevin will lead a 300 strong team which specialises in the installation and maintenance of building energy management systems (BEMS) control technology which can drive significant reductions in energy consumption. As well as cost savings, SSE Enterprise Energy Solutions helps customers reduce their carbon footprint and comply with government legislation.    

With a wealth of clients across the public and private sector, including Asda, Aldi, Glaxo Smith Kline, Glasgow City Council, Scottish Courts and the London Aquatics Centre, SSE Enterprise Energy Solutions is focused on strong growth across the next five years as businesses look to reduce their energy overheads and invest in efficiency.

Kevin brings a wealth of experience to his new role having held a variety of senior positions within SSE, which he joined as a graduate in 1991. Most recently he was Director of Relationship Management and Marketing for SSE Enterprise and previous roles include Chief Executive of SSE’s Irish business Airtricity, MD of Contracting and Head of Trading. Originally from West Lothian, Kevin graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics with Engineering Technology.

SSE Enterprise Energy Solutions is headquartered in Manchester with regional offices across the UK, including a state-of-the-art Energy Management Centre in Glasgow. It sits within SSE Enterprise, the company’s dedicated business-to-business division which was formed in February 2014 and also offers Contracting, Lighting, Utilities and Telecoms services to businesses across the UK.
