Shvabe Has Developed New Generation Thermal Imaging Module
OREANDA-NEWS. Shvabe Holding has developed a thermal imaging module for sights, binoculars and monoculars with improved technical characteristics, e.g. increased operating range and expanded field of vision.
The new device created by specialists of Shvabe - Devices JSC, a Holding's enterprise, has all necessary functions for processing and correction a black-and-white video image in order to obtain a high-quality thermal imaging picture. The spectral sensitivity range of the module is from 8 to 14 mcm, with the frame change frequency being equal to 50Hz. The possibility of operation from two independent power supplies has been implemented in the product, with automatic changeover from the operating power supply to the standby one and vice versa.
"The new Shvabe thermal imaging module has got a full-dimensional matrix with enhanced sensitivity. As a result, the object recognition range has grown from 1,500 to 2,000 metres and the observer's field of vision has been increased by 15% as compared to our devices or previous generation. By its technical characteristics the module is at the level of the best world analogues", explained Vassiliy Rassokhin, Shvabe - Devices JSC's general director.
The launch of the new device into serial production is planned for the end of 2015.
