OREANDA-NEWS. LyondellBasell will acquire SJS Plastiblends, a polypropylene compounds (PPC) manufacturer based in Aurangabad, India, for an undisclosed sum.

"This acquisition will expand our global PPC manufacturing footprint and allow us to better compete in the long-term growth of India's automotive market," said Lyondell chief executive Bhavesh Patel.

SJS Plastiblends operates a 12,000 t/yr facility that produces polypropylene compounds used in automobiles and home appliances. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the year.
