Cargill Limited donates $150,000 to charities
“We were impressed with quality of the nominations and amazed by the strong support they all received which has made it a very difficult choice,” said Jeff Vassart, President, Cargill Limited. “The impact that these organizations have is a testament to their commitment towards making their communities a better place to live.”
“Together We Thrive” encouraged charitable organizations in communities where Cargill serves to nominate their program/initiative for one of six $25,000 grants. Winners were selected based on a number of criteria including sharing Cargill’s giving priorities: food security and nutrition, education and environmental stewardship.
A total of 145 charitable organizations nominated projects ranging from support for local food banks to school breakfast programs to eco-projects. Winners were:
- Lethbridge Food Bank – Lethbridge, AB
- Dallas Valley Ranch Camp - Moosejaw, SK
- Dauphin Food For Thought Program – Dauphin, MB
- McLennan Breakfast for Learning Program – McLennan, AB
- 4-H Ontario – Rockwood, ON
- Nature Saskatchewan – SK
