OREANDA-NEWS. White metallurgists of ChelPipe Group had 67 of their own inventions patented in the first six months of 2015 (vs. 69 in the 12 months of 2014). 

Specialists of ChelPipe Group are designing unique equipment, technologies and methods never used in the pipe industry before. Patents issued by the Federal Intellectual Property Service are valid for 20 years.

Most of the know-hows developed by the white metallurgists are aimed at improving the technology of production of Premium Class threaded connectors, pipes with new consumer properties for the oil and gas industry, nuclear and heat energy industry and machine building, cutting down production costs and improving the quality. In 2015, for instance, ChelPipe specialists designed and patented a changeover system (for changing equipment for the production of another size pipes). The system has helped cut down the change-over time in the Vysota 239 LDP plant from 9 to 3 hours. The economic effect of the invention is estimated as 150M roubles per year.

The company currently holds 253 patents. Another 13 inventions of ChelPipe's white metallurgists are pending patent at the Federal Intellectual Property Service. Patents will be awarded at the end of the expert review.
