OREANDA-NEWS. Shvabe Holding has created a prototype of manual slit lamp designed for diagnostics of the anterior chamber of the eye.

"Unlike slit lamps of previous generation, the new device was created as portable one, e.g. with a small weight and small dimensions. A physician can take such apparatus during visiting a patient at home, it can be used for diagnostics of eyesight with a preschool child who cannot be seated in front of the device, it is suitable for application in ambulances, optics salons and private medical treatment institutions", told Nickolai Rakovich, Shvabe JSC's deputy general director for R&D and innovative development.

The lamp is notable for modern optics and design. The main technical characteristics are as follows: microscope magnification - 10x, 16x and 25.6x; interval of dioptric guidance of eyepieces - from minus 6 to plus 6. The device is fed from four finger-type batteries or from a storage battery.

The slit lamp is the own development of Zagorsk optical and mechanical plant OJSC, a Holding's enterprise based in the Moscow region. The launch of the new product into serial production is planned for the seond quarter of 2016.
