OREANDA-NEWS. August 07, 2015. Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. experienced a strong start to the third quarter with a sales increase of 14 per cent for Canadian-built Ford Edge.

“Ford Employee Pricing kicked off in July at dealerships across Canada, making it even easier to get into a Ford,” said Dianne Craig, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. “We are excited to see positive customer reaction continue for the all-new Canadian-built Ford Edge, the all-new Ford Mustang and the new 2016 Ford Explorer.”

Total car sales increased three per cent with help from the Ford Mustang, up 31 per cent, Ford Fusion, up 25 per cent and the Ford Taurus, up 41 per cent.

Sales of the Ford Edge helped drive an increase of five per cent in Ford CUV sales.  Ford Explorer and Ford Expedition sales grew 65 per cent and 89 per cent respectively in the SUV segment.
Solid sales of the Lincoln MKZ, Lincoln MKS, Lincoln MKC and Lincoln Navigator resulted in an overall Lincoln sales increase of five per cent.

“Sales are on-track with the overall business strategy. We are continuing to improve resale values since that’s important to our customers, and one of the steps we’ve taken is to reduce the number of fleet vehicles we sell to daily rental companies,” Craig said.
