Shvabe Has Patented Wide-Angle Eyepiece
OREANDA-NEWS. Shvabe Holding has obtained a patent for invention intended for use in astronomic telescopes, sighting telescopes, binoculars and other observation devices.
"The eyepiece created by our specialists has the angular field of vision equal to 100°, which essentially enhances the observation comfort. This indicator is equal to 80 for the existing similar models. The second important advantage of the invention is the increased remoteness of the exit pupil up to 10 mm, which enables the observer to cover the whole field of vision in the space of eyepiece items. And the third one: the lenses are manufactured from glass of two grades as compared with three, and sometimes six grades, to be used in similar devices, with a part of lens surfaces being flat. Such eyepiece is notable for high manufacturablity as it is easy in manufacture and has a construction being more convenient for serial production", told Vassiliy Rassokhin, Shvabe - Devices JSC's director.
The patented device can be used not only for visual observation but also for photography. The number of its notable characteristics includes the focal distance of 12.5 mm, aperture ratio of 1:5, maximum light diameter of 47.5 mm.
The creation of a new wide-angle eyepiece has been caused by the needs of modern optical instrument-making in enhancing the competitiveness of Russian observation devices on the global market. Its launching into serialproduction is planned for 2016.
