Group Volkswagen, which assembles Skoda and Volkswagen cars for the Russian market at a plant in Kaluga and facilities "GAZ Group", has decided to stop the production in the country for a month. Contract assembly in Nizhny Novgorod will be stopped from August 3rd to 31st, and the corporate vacation at the plant in Kaluga, which began on July 27th, will last until August 24th, the representative of the Russian office of the group informed "Za rulem.RF". Earlier the production in Nizhny Novgorod stopped the work from July 1 to 10th, due to lower demand.

"GAZ Group" under the contract with Volkswagen in Nizhny Novgorod assembles cars Skoda Yeti, Volkswagen Jetta and Skoda Octavia. At the Volkswagen plant in Kaluga, there are produced Volkswagen Tiguan, Polo and Skoda Rapid. The company plans to launch in September in Russia the engine plant for passenger cars.

Sales of new cars Volkswagen for 6 months in Russia fell by 46% to 36.6 thousand units and Skoda - by 33% to 28 thousand units.
