OREANDA-NEWS. August 03, 2015. German carmaker Volkswagen will begin the production of engines in the Kaluga region in September of 2015. It was announced during the meeting of the Minister of Industry and Trade Minister, Denis Manturov, with the ambassador of Germany in Russia, R?diger von Fritsch. The diplomat said that the completion of construction and commissioning of the enterprise for the production of internal combustion engines of 1.6 liters is planned for the first month of autumn, but he did not mention a specific date.

Recall that the creation of engine-plant in the industrial park "Grabtsevo" near Kaluga started in December of 2012 and in February 2015 the first pre-series production of the engines started here for a number of models assembled in Russia, Volkswagen and Skoda. According to the project, the company will produce 150 thousand power plants per a year, writes "Rossiyskaya Gazeta".

It will be created 300 jobs at the engine building company. It is expected that they will be able to fill in by the workers of Volkswagen plant in Kaluga, who were fired by agreement or in connection with the non-renewal of labor contracts. The conveyor is stopped until August 21st, when a corporate holiday will be completed in the company.
