OREANDA-NEWS. Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, President of the Republic of Turkey, today met Huawei Rotating CEO Guo Ping on July 30 during an official visit to Beijing.

During his trip, President Erdo?an visited Huawei's Beijing Exhibition Center. Then Erdo?an and Guo witnessed the signing of the MoU on 5G cooperation between Huawei and Turkish operator Turkcell.

At the Exhibition Center, President Erdo?an got a glimpse of Huawei's latest innovations in broadband technologies, including LTE-M, 5G, green data centers, and digital homes. He was briefed on Huawei's overall operations and consumer device market share in Turkey. President Erdo?an also spoke via Huawei's telepresence system with Turkish students in Shenzhen who are participating in Huawei's flagship CSR program, Seeds for the Future. President Erdo?an praised the program for its contributions to cultivating young ICT talent.

President Erdo?an commented: "As a leader in the global ICT industry, Huawei has achieved tremendous success in R&D. Over the years, Huawei's business in Turkey has created many jobs for our young professionals. Today, we witnessed the signing of an important MoU between Huawei and Turkcell. As the Chinese saying goes, 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.' This MoU marks an important step in our cooperation, which I believe will grow even closer and stronger in the future."

"Turkey is a very important market for Huawei, and is also where we have established our headquarters for the Central Asia & Caucasia Region. We have operated in Turkey for over a decade, and through collaboration with our local partners, we have proactively contributed to the country's ICT development," Guo Ping said. "In the future, we will continue working closely with the Turkish ICT industry to help the country implement its national digital strategy – Vision 2023."

Since Huawei entered the Turkish market in 2003, it has remained committed to providing quality end-to-end solutions, products, and services to Turkish operators, enterprises, and consumers. In the future, Huawei will strive to become a strategic partner of Turkish operators during their transformation, an enterprise ICT infrastructure provider, and a smart device brand preferred and trusted by local consumers.
