OREANDA-NEWS. JSC Inter RAO - Electric Power Plants announced operating results for the first six months of 2015.

Power generation subsidiaries of JSC Inter RAO - Electric Power Plants produced 48.353 billion kWh of electricity in the first six months of 2015, up 0.9% year-on-year.

This change mostly reflects the significant increase in the output of Yuzhnouralskaya TPP-2 (by a factor of 2.5) and Nizhnevartovskaya TPP (by 38%) following the addition of new CDA (Capacity Delivery Agreement) facilities with combined capacity of 867 MW and concurrent reduction in utilization of inefficient power generation units at Kashirskaya TPP, Cherepetskaya TPP and Yuzhnouralskaya TPP in order to maximize electricity sales profitability. Verkhnetagilskaya TPP and Yuzhnouralskaya TPP retired 276 MW of their power generation assets under the legacy equipment retirement program.

Power plants of JSC Inter RAO - Electric Power Plants delivered 2,190.2 thousand Gcal of heat in the first six months of 2015, down 7.7% year-on-year. This reduction reflects higher monthly average air temperatures in our regions through the winter of 2015, and the retirement of inefficient assets.

Fuel mix changed marginally across the subsidiaries of JSC Inter RAO - Electric Power Plants: share of natural gas increased from 77.73% in the first six months of 2014 to 77.78% in the first six months of 2015; share of coal reduced from 21.85% to 21.69%; while share of fuel oil increased from 0.41% to 0.52%.
