OREANDA-NEWS. During 2014 the global market for new passenger cars (PC + LCV) increased by 3.4% compared with the previous year, by showing a new record of 87,024,737 sold cars. This result is more by 2.9 million than in 2013. These data were presented by experts of focus2move, as they analyzed the sales of new cars over the period from 2011 to 2014 for 148 markets.

Russia took 8th place in the world ranking in the last year, and a year ago it was a place on one line above. By assessing the current situation in the Russian automotive market, experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" believe that Russia has all chances to leave the top-10 of leading countries by the results of 2015.

"Most of the world markets continue to grow. At the same time, for the first half of the year the Russian market showed a drop. Despite the support of the state (the program: subsidized car loans, parc renewal, reduced leasing - Ed.), the growth of the automotive market in the second half of the year is not expected. And by the results of year the volume of sales of new passenger cars will be about 1.5 million units that lead it beyond the "tens" of markets ", - says Sergey Udalov, the executive director of the agency "AUTOSTAT".
