OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2015. Today, we’re happy to announce a new version of the Salesforce1 Mobile App for iOS, which brings our Office Integration to life! This exciting integration gives you a brand new way to access and edit documents in external repositories such as SharePoint and OneDrive for Business and also seamlessly edit them using Office iOS apps. This release is the latest in a series of milestones based on our strategic partnership with Microsoft.

In addition to focusing on performance, we focused on providing deep integration with external content management systems. With the latest upgrade, users will be get similar to functionality to what is currently available via Salesforce Files Connect such as:

  • View files from SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, and Google Drive in the Salesforce1 Mobile App

  • Edit Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint files and save back to the Salesforce1 Mobile App

Deep Integration With Microsoft Office

Working closely with Microsoft, Salesforce apps can now seamlessly interact with Office 365 directly on a mobile device. For example, a user can view content relevant to an account opportunity, tap on the file and immediately start editing in the Office app, with changes automatically saved back to the cloud.
