APLNG still on track for 2H first shipment

OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2015. The partners in the 9mn t/yr Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) project said the venture is still on track to deliver its first shipments in this year's second half with it starting to load refrigerants to the ventre at Gladstone, Queensland.

Propane and ethylene, two refrigerants used to cool the natural gas into a liquid, will continue to arrive at Gladstone's Curtis island during the coming weeks, APLNG said.

"The arrival of the refrigerants signifies a key step toward starting up the first LNG train. It enables us to meet the next milestones including test runs of the compressors, followed by final commissioning of remaining units of the first LNG train," APLNG chief executive Page Maxon said. "Today's achievement keeps us firmly on track for first LNG export in the second half of this calendar year."
