Tele2 and Khanty Mansi Autonomous Area government sign agreement on cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, and the Khanty Mansi Autonomous Area government have signed an agreement on cooperation in telecommunications services development. The document implies investment at RUB1.2 bn into network infrastructure development over three years and a half.
The document has been signed by Dmitriy Lopatukhin, Chief Operations Officer at Tele2, and interim Khanty Mansi Autonomous Area Governor Natalya Komarova at VII International IT Forum with BRICS and SCO countries that takes place on 6-7 July in Khanty-Mansiysk.
The agreement is seeking to lay foundation for cooperation between Tele2 and the regional government in social and economic development of the Khanty Mansi Autonomous Area and Yugra. The operator is planning to launch LTE networks in Surgut, Nizhnevartovsk, Megion, Khanty-Mansiysk, Nyagan, Kogalym and Nefteyugansk as well as modernize GSM networks in the region.

“The Khanty Mansi Autonomous Area is one of the main markets for the company. Partnership with the regional authorities will let us provide residents with high-quality mobile services at low prices. As a socially responsible operator we are going to launch voice services and high-quality Internet not only in large cities but also small residential areas. I am sure that cooperation with the regional government will contribute to implementation of set tasks.”
