A joint emergency response exercise of companies of the electric grid complex of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus completed in the Gomel region
According to the organizers’ intention, as a result of the impact of severe weather conditions (strong winds, precipitation as rain, storms) there were massive outages of power grid facilities of distribution networks of RUE "Gomelenergo" in the territory of Dobrushsky district in the Gomel region. A special operation mode was introduced in the region.
To eliminate the consequences of the failure and the speedy recovery of power supply to consumers power engineers of Dobrushsky Distribution Zone were assisted with arrived maintenance crews from the branch of RUE "Gomelenergo" - "Rechitsa Electricity Systems", and later repair and mobile crews of RUE "Mogilevenergo" and IDGC of Centre - Bryanskenergo division, equipped with the necessary gear and special vehicles. Together the power engineers of Russia and Belarus succeeded to promptly eliminate the consequences of technological disturbances in the electric grid of the Gomel region.
The organizers of the exercise praised the professionalism of its participants. "Such events provide the power companies of the two states a good opportunity to work out a procedure of interaction on the elimination of massive interruptions in border power grid facilities," stressed First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin. "Following the results of the training all of its participants successfully coped with the task, demonstrating the high level of professionalism, understanding, clear and concerted actions."
