E.ON to form strategic alliance for energy efficiency in Italy
OREANDA-NEWS. July 24, 2015. E.ON formed a strategic alliance with Banca Prossima and the foundation Fits! to foster energy efficiency, carbon and cost savings in the public sector in Italy. The common aim is to reduce energy costs and CO2 emissions by supporting the environmental development of the public sector.
The partners bring together their technical, planning, financial and commercial skills. E.ON Connecting Energies is a business unit of E.ON that offers integrated energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers as well as public-sector institutions; Banca Prossima is the bank of Intesa Sanpaolo Group focusing on non-profit organizations; Fits! is a foundation to support the third sector in efficiency projects.

Banca Prossima will finance the projects to improve sustainability. Foundation fits! enables the best fit of involved companies in each public tender process. There is a wide range of potential projects, from energy efficiency in buildings to on-site generation.
Robert Hienz, CEO of E.ON Connecting Energies: “This agreement is another milestone of our growth path in Italy. We are delighted to start offering specific energy services to the public sector. With Banca Prossima as a strong financial partner we can realize significant carbon savings and to ease the strain on public finances”.
