OREANDA-NEWS. July 24, 2015. Power management company Eaton today announced the release of enhanced End of Row Doors for improved management of airflow within data center aisle containment systems. The new door configurations are designed to help minimize the remixing of hot or cold air in a wider range of data center applications, helping increase the efficiency of cooling systems to reduce costs and extend the life of hardware.

“Industry studies indicate that an estimated 60 percent of the cool air supplied to traditional data centers is wasted because it bypasses the intended equipment and returns directly to the hot air intake of cooling systems,” said Ed Eacueo, senior manager, Data Center Products, Eaton. “Eaton’s new End of Row Doors help address this challenge by taking a cost-effective and fully integrated approach to improving airflow containment and cooling efficiency.”

Eaton’s new End of Row Doors are available in five styles with two heights and varying widths to meet the needs of nearly any data center environment. The doors are also compatible with Eaton’s S-Series and Paramount Enclosure Systems as well as most other manufacturers’ enclosures. Providing single-sliding, dual-sliding, single-swing, dual-swing and caf? style doors, the solution range is also designed to meet the exact preferences of data center managers and designers. Each door is tested to support reliable closure automatically and consistently under typical data center air pressures.

Each End of Row Door is designed standard with a transparent, impact resistant, Underwriters Laboratories (UL®) 94 V-0 window material for robust fire protection. The enhanced doors also include a range of features designed to simplify installation, helping customers increase the speed of deployment. Eaton reduced the number of complex parts and many components are pre-assembled.
