OREANDA-NEWS. AvtoVAZ can equip with gas equipment all models LADA. To start the duel-fuel cars into the serial production, the enterprise today has not only the necessary technology, but also eco-friendly pilot samples. On July 20th within the 49th anniversary of AvtoVAZ the management of the company has offered the media to test such vehicles ("Granta" and "Largus" that are running on methane and petrol and electric Ellada) on its test track, as well as ask questions to the developers. Reporters noted that the double-fuel version of "Granta" that is working on gas, by accelerating, behaves more measured compared with petrol course: so there are certain disadvantages, which, however, under certain circumstances, are at the same time its own merits. The specialists of AVTOVAZ explained that in each car, the owner can set optionally the individual calibration.

Engineering specialists said that the gas version of the LADA car on each refueling saves about 600 rubles. For a more vivid comparison: the cost of a kilometer on methane – is 77 cents for gasoline - 2 rubles 42 kopecks. Today LADA Granta can travel 350 km on gas, LADA Largus - 370 km. By combining gas and gasoline fuel, in fact you can drive on one filling of about 1000 km. The transition from gas to petrol mode is automatic. The cost of the issue - is about 110 thousand rubles (cost of gas equipment) per 1 car: electrician, the injector and the actual gas cylinder itself.

For the filling of modern double-fuel "Lada" is used today not propane but methane, which from the point of view of a potential security is important: Methane is much lighter than air and in case of leaking it just evaporate without creating the risk of fire or explosion. In addition, modern gas cylinders have three degrees of protection, and they are quite light: weighs only about 11 kg.
