OREANDA-NEWS. July 24, 2015. Mikhail Voevodin, CEO, VSMPO-AVSMA Corporation was receiving representatives of the largest European aircraft builder - Airbus Group.

The visit agenda involved negotiations on further partnership within strategic cooperation apart from meetings dedicated to current partner programs. The nine managers under the leadership of Olivier Coquille, Senior Vice-President, Materials and Parts Procurement, Airbus, visited VSMPO industrial facility (Verkhnaya Salda).

The guests’ interest was fairly attracted by a machining shop furnished with most advanced machining equipment allowing for production of value-added goods.

Special attention was drawn to the accomplished large-scale projects for re-equipment which has been worked on for the latest 5 years by VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation: a new area for scull melting furnaces in Melting Shop, a new forging facility which is based on 4000 ton hydraulic press.

Olivier Coquille was surprised to see considerable changes though he had seen VSMPO production cycle in April, 2013. "This is the main direction of our partneship" – noted he.

"I am very pleased to be at VSMPO again to see that immense progress in production modernization that took place at this facility. It’s very important that those changes are aimed at production of value-added goods".

"This is the basic direction our partnership is targeted to" – noted he.

Senior Vice President, Airbus materials and parts procurement emphasized a high trust level between the companies, a collaboration of which has stepped over a 20 year line:

"Our relations with Mikhail Voevodin, Corporation Director, and his team have reached a highest level of trust. We discuss not only results of contracts and obligations accomplishment but also verify plans regarding the prospects of our cooperation, analyze our companies’ development tendencies with due account for the current conditions of aerospace technology market".
