OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2015. Followers of three media personalities from the Caribbean and Central America got clued into what trends Ford is forecasting and how the company will meet future needs by following the trio’s posts from this year’s Further with Ford conference in Palo Alto, Calif.

Alex Neuman of Panama’s Vida Digital TV tweeted throughout the in-depth sessions that featured Ford leadership and such Silicon Valley notables as Hewlett-Packard CEO Meg Whitman and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. Neuman posted multiple pictures from the June event, including some of signs to help illustrate what he was describing, such as one describing the MyFordMobile app.

Roberto Mercado Jr. of EnVivoPR.com was particularly taken by Ford’s electric bike concept, writing “The interesting thing about this bike is that it has a pilot mode in which the user can reach your destination without sweating and back to get to the point where he left his parked car, and transform the bike in a suitcase to fit in trunk of a Ford Fiesta.”

Mercado also took a test drive in a 2015 Ford Mustang, as did other attendees, including Bolivar Valera Ariza of the Dominican Republic, who checked in on Swarm and shared photos of himself and the Mustang with his 495,000 Twitter followers, soliciting and responding to questions as they arose and referring to the conference an “inspiring experience.”

It was a photograph by Mercado, however, that particularly captured the attention of judges in a Ford social media photo contest. Conference attendees were given six locations and encouraged to take a photo of the vehicle and post it on Instagram with #FordTrends. Mercado’s photo outside the Palace of Fine Arts was among the winning entries.

Further with Ford was designed to provide journalists and social media influencers with an inside look at the innovations and trends changing the way the world moves and how the drive for innovation through Ford Smart Mobility will meet future needs.
