OREANDA-NEWS. One of the latest achievements of AvtoVAZ - the new engine VAZ-11192 - will be given for further testing in the Togliatti State University, Center of rotary compressors. In fact, it is created the first domestic engine with a turbocharger. As the press service of the TSU informed, the engine was created with the participation of the British company Ricardo and it is designed for installation in serial cars.

The university has proposed to increase the efficiency and power of the engine by using a screw supercharger. Such a supercharger gives a quick response when the driver pressed the gas pedal and it differs favorably from turbo compressor that works with a delay. To reduce drive losses in compressor Togliatti State University also produced a special device regulation in the form of valves, controlling which it is possible to reduce fuel consumption.

According to the plan, work on the preparation and testing is to be completed at the auto giant in October 2015. Then, the next meeting will be held at the executive vice president of AvtoVAZ, where it will be discussed the prospects of implementation of this development. TSU and AvtoVAZ have experience of successful cooperation in 2012-2014 to create a hybrid LADA Granta, including the option of a petrol turbo engine, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. Then TSU was working with the turbocharger components, including fuel CNG (methane).
