MIF and NXTP Labs to hold WeXchange forum and Pitch Competition for high-impact women entrepreneurs
OREANDA-NEWS. July 17, 2015. The Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, will hold the third annual WeXchange, the leading Latin American forum dedicated to connecting and supporting the growth of women entrepreneurs in the region. This year, WeXchange will take place on the 19th and the 20th of November in Monterrey, Mexico during the INCmty Festival, one of the biggest entrepreneurial events in Latin America.
WeXchange offers women entrepreneurs opportunities for networking, mentoring, and meeting with potential investors. This third edition will once again include the Pitch Competition, a challenge organized by NXTP Labs, the most active investment fund in the region, with an acceleration program that will reward the region’s most innovative and dynamic women entrepreneur.
The Pitch Competition is geared towards companies with a strong technology and innovation component that have at least one woman in the founder team and focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. Six finalists will be selected to pitch their companies to a group of independent judges during the WeXchange event in Mexico.
Registration is open and the application can be completed through this link starting today until September 15th.
The winner of the 2014 Pitch Competition was Carolina Medina of Colombia, co-founder of SokoText. Soko Text is an app that helps distribute food and other basic necessities to underprivileged regions. Women entrepreneurs from Argentina, Chile and Guatemala were among the six finalists.
WeXchange is part of Demand Solutions, Ideas for Improving Lives, a movement sponsored by the IDB, which aims to promote innovation, creativity, and an entrepreneurial spirit as an instrument for development.
