Eaton to Showcase Expanded Range of Power Management Solutions for Solar and Energy Storage Systems at Intersolar North America 2015 Booth #8221
“Eaton’s solutions and expert engineering services are helping customers across the globe meet the energy demands of tomorrow,” said John Vernacchia, global segment manager for renewable energy at Eaton. “Our expertise helps customers establish renewable energy systems with the flexibility, reliability and scalability to anticipate growth, while optimizing power generation and return on investment.”
Demonstrating Eaton’s capabilities, Vernacchia will lead an education session focused on deploying utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage systems on Monday, July 13, at 4:20 p.m. at the InterContinental Hotel Level 3, Grand Ballroom B. The presentation is part of the “Energy Storage: Utility-Scale Applications” track from 3:30 to 4:50 p.m., and will explore best practices for optimizing overall system efficiency, reliability and safety.
For the annual Intersolar North America Award program, Eaton alternative energy sales engineer, Megan Greenwood, will provide an overview of the Mandalay Bay project with NRG Renew’s director of project engineering, Erika Hanson. The presentation is on Tuesday, July 14, at 12:30 p.m. in Moscone West Level 3, Alcove 2.
Eaton will also showcase an expanded portfolio of electrical BOS solutions for solar and energy storage applications at the show, including:
- Power Xpert Solar 1500- and 1670-kilowatt (kW) inverters, which enable a skid-less inverter station design to reduce equipment requirements and installation costs
- Power Xpert grid-connect energy storage inverter that is designed to increase electrical resiliency in utility-scale applications, and work seamlessly with a wide variety of battery chemistries to store and transmit power when needed
- Eaton’s Cooper Power series high-efficiency transformers with overcurrent protection devices, for transformers up to 38 kilovolts (kV), which are designed to dramatically reduce maintenance and downtime
- Smart VFI underground distribution switchgear is designed to easily integrate into grid-tie generation systems
- Power Xpert Solar 1000 volts (v) direct current (DC) breaker recombiner tested by Underwriter Laboratories (UL) and certified to meet UL 1741 standards for safe and reliable operation in grid-tied applications
- Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds series aluminum string circuit capable combiners and wire harnesses use proprietary interconnection technology to allow for multiple options to support disconnecting means, surge protection, monitoring and other custom requirements
- Eaton’s Bussmann series Blade and bolt-on 1000v DC NH PV Fuses specifically designed for protecting and isolating array combiners/re-combiners, disconnects and inverters
- An extensive range of PVGard solar circuit breakers and switch solutions up to 1500v DC designed to help customers reduce design, installation, maintenance and inventory costs while saving space, enhancing safety and reliability, and maximizing energy harvest
