iDA study ranks Huawei and M1 4G network as the best in Singapore
From October 2014 to June 2015, iDA piloted MyConnection SG, a mobile app that utilized voluntary crowdsourcing to improve the quality of the mobile broadband users’ experience. During this nine month period, 4,000 participants from across Singapore downloaded the app and shared their individual mobile experiences with iDA, collecting more than 50 million data points in the process.
According to the results, M1 customers experienced the fastest 4G connection and the top average download speed. The average time to establish a local connection on the M1 4G network was 35.4 milliseconds, the fastest of all operators included in the survey. In terms of the download speed, M1 was the leading operator with an average speed of 4.9-43.7Mbps.

“The results from the iDA MyConnection SG Pilot demonstrate the work Huawei and M1 have done to build the best 4G network in Singapore. We will use the data from the report to plan efficient upgrades to give customers an even better experience,” said Zhou Bin, Chief Executive Officer, Huawei International Pte Ltd.
Huawei and M1 have cooperated on wireless network technology since 2008, with Huawei providing M1 with a range of products and solutions including the launch of the first 4G network in Southeast Asia, and the first LTE-A network coverage across Singapore. “Huawei will continue to cooperate with M1 to maintain the best 4G service network in Singapore, and we are working to identify the next opportunities our partnership can explore, including 4.5G and improving indoor connectivity,” said David Wang, President of the Huawei Wireless Product Line.
Huawei currently works with 45 of the world's top 50 operators and serves over 60% of Singapore's telecommunication needs.
