OREANDA-NEWS. July 16, 2015. On this meeting which was presided by Akim of the South Kazakh region Mr. Myrzakhmetov participated Claude Badan, General Director of AMG and Chairman of the Board of the Bank of development of Kazakhstan Mr. Zhamishev.

In accordance with concept of the project the new terminal will be integrated with railway and bus stations as well as transport logistic center which is going to be commissioning at the present time. In Kazakhstan such concept of airport`s development will be used at the first time. Implementation of this project are in two stages. The first stage – construction of new passenger terminal with 18 thousand sq.m. of the space and 600 passengers of capacity in hour. Completion of the first stage is planned in 2016-2017 years. The second stage – expansion of the terminal on 16 thousand sq.m. more which will allow to serve up to 1 200 passengers in hour. On the base of the new terminal interacting with transport logistic center avia-logistic hub will be developed, with own temporary storage warehouses and custom checkpoints. On the result of these works in 2030 passenger traffic of the new terminal may reach 3 million per year.

Creation of air harbor in this region, improvement of city’s infrastructure, will positively impact on development of economy and social spheres as well as the south region of the country in general. In addition this construction can allow to create about 1 000 new workplaces during implementation of this project.

Let us recall that in April 2015 AMG (subsidiary of National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy) and Akimat of the South region signed the Memo of constructing the new terminal in Shymkent and within the agreement specialists of AMG prepare technical-economy feasibility and work out options for attracting investors for the project.

In general, the total investment is estimated at 164 million USA dollars. According experts opinion investors are interested to participate in this project, including Bank of development of Kazakhstan. On the result of today`s negotiations parties expressed their readiness to study thoroughly all aspects of the project and agreed to cooperate in this matter.
