OREANDA-NEWS. In January - June 2015 JSC Siberian Coal Energy Company' holdings (JSC "SUEK") produced 46,5 mln tones of coal, which is a 1% increase compared to the same period last year.

Sales volumes in January - June 2015 increased by 11 % over the same period last year to 49,1 mln tones of coal.

Domestic sales volumes increased by 20 %. Russian consumers bought 26,3 mln tones of coal, of which 21,6 mln tones were supplied to electric power plants. The increase in domestic sales was driven by high demand from Russian energy companies due to low water level and decreased energy production of hydro-power plants.

International sales volumes grew by 2 % to 22,8 mln tones of coal. Key export markets include - China, South Korea, Japan, The Netherlands, Taiwan, Great Britain and Germany.
