Lack of the shortest transport routes is a major obstacle for intensification of trade and economic relations in the region. In this regard, it is considered necessary to take advantage of the already functioning Eastern branch of the international transport corridor North - South, which runs from Kazakhstan - Turkmenistan - Iran and is the link between India and Russia, the Caucasus and Eastern Europe.

Currently, the parties are interested in the development of logistics for transporting goods to / from Indian ports of Mundra / Mumbai and Bandar Abbas through Iran to Kazakhstan.

Signed documents in Astana provide a mutually beneficial cooperation that promote development of transit transport corridor North - South.
