Porta Communications Plc, the AIM quoted international marketing and communications business, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary business  Newgate Communications has been appointed by 2 Sisters Food Group, one of the UK's largest food manufacturing companies. Newgate Communications will provide a combined corporate and financial communications and public affairs programme to support the growth of 2 Sisters Food Group.

The Birmingham-based 2 Sisters Food Group produces around a third of all the poultry consumed in the UK as well as ready meals, sandwiches, biscuits, pizzas, pies and other food products. Among its many brands are Goodfella's, Fox's Biscuits, Holland's Pies and Matthew Walker. In 2011 it bought Northern Foods and in 2013 purchased the UK arm of Dutch red meat group Vion.

Newgate will support 2 Sisters Food Group in all its food safety and animal welfare campaigns, as well as innovation initiatives within British agriculture and it's an ongoing expansion and modernisation programme. The role will include media relations, stakeholder and political outreach and support in financial communications.
