OREANDA-NEWS. July 10, 2015. SSE has launched a new fixed rate tariff which could see a typical medium household dual fuel bill cut to ?899 a year on average.*

SSE 1 Year Fix offers existing and new customers a  lowa low price, top quality customer service alongside flexible online account management.

The tariff is open to customers who can commit to a year-long contract, pay by direct debit, take paperless billing and submit meter readings every six months.

Will Morris, SSE Group Managing Director, Retail, said this is a further extension of SSE’s highly competitive offering for UK energy customers.

He said: “This first rate fixed deal is open to existing and new customers and follows on from our industry leading two-years free broadband offer, un-paralleled energy price guarantee until July 2016 and gas price cut”.

“It’s a fiercely competitive market and we have to fight to retain every customer and win new ones. This is one of the best deals on the market and demonstrates our commitment to keeping prices low, offering customer’s choice and going further to make their lives a little bit easier.”

This year SSE has cut gas prices, extended its guarantee of no rises for standard domestic energy until  July 2016, offered customers two years free broadband and has invested further in its great customer service.**

*?899 is based on an annual bill  averaged across all regions in GB for a medium typical domestic customer for gas and electricity as at 9 July 2015, where the customer pays by monthly direct debit and receives paperless bills. The medium typical domestic consumption values set by Ofgem are 13,500 kWh for gas and 3,200 KWh for electricity.

** Gas price cut & gas/electricity price freeze applies to SSE customers on our Standard domestic tariff , except SSE Airtricity customers. Offer for SSE Everyday Broadband. Two years free if phone package kept throughout. Offer ends 16/9/15. Full T&Cs: sse.co.uk/more.
