Freight One boosts ore volumes over 5m 2015
The positive dynamics was backed by the efficient performance of the Company's specialists in the context of service contracts with key customers, namely OJSC Novolipetsk Steel, JSC Severstal, and UC Rusal, including prompt processing of applications for transportation, building effective logistics, timely supply of railcars to the loading stations, and 24-hour goods dispatch support.
The increase of indices was also encouraged by the export and import ore traffic growth caused by the devaluated Russian ruble and the increased demand for Russian raw materials by China and increased aluminum production in Russia.
The share of export in the total ore transportation volume in Freight One's railcars over the period grew 61%, reaching 2.8 thou tons, the import share rose more than 2-fold to 0.6 mln tons, domestic transportation in Russia increased 4%, totaling 12.6 mln tons.
The ore was transported by the Russian Railways network to consignees in Russia, the CIS countries, and China. Imports were carried from Ukraine and Australia to Russian aluminum producers.
"Freight One's strategy of making long-term service contracts with our customers requires constant updating of the Company's service portfolio, and development of new customer-required service tools. Currently Freight One keeps more than 30 services ready for the customers' request, including logistics, technological, tariff and other services. We have also launched to the market a new service, called industrial logistics, which in its content is a whole business line for Freight One. Customer focus and meeting the widest possible range of our partners' needs create conditions for cargo base increase and attraction of new customers despite the downward trend in the volumes on the Russian Railways network," said Alexander Sapronov, Executive Director of Freight One.
