Tele2 to support Russian designers, musicians and cooks
OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, reports that an open city festival Chestfest will become all-Russian. In 2015 events will take place in 11 regions of the country. The festival is held under the slogan “Honest locals” and consolidates all designers, musicians, cooks as well as active and indifferent residents of Russian cities.
In 2015, Tele2 is planning to involve over 300 businessmen from 11 Russian regions in holding Chesfests. The duration of all festivals will total 90 hours whereas an overall number of visitors is forecast to exceed 100 thousand.
The main idea of Chesfest is to consolidate active citizens and give them an opportunity to show their professional achievements. The festival’s territory is divided into several interactive zones. In the “Honest things” zone visitors may buy exclusive clothes and accessories of local designers. In the “Honest food” gastronomic zone the guests are welcome to taste and buy delicious treats at street cafes. In the “Honest sports” zone visitors may play table foosball, darts, frisbee and other active games. Russian music bands are traditionally in charge of making festive atmosphere.
Chestfest is not only an entertaining event: visitors of the festival may improve their city by themselves. For example, one of the most remarkable parts of Chestfest is jointly creating art objects meant to improve the look of cities.
The first Chestfest took place in September 2014 in Novosibirsk. Over 10 thou residents of Novosibirsk took part in the event. At the beginning of 2015 Novosibirsk Chestfest was nominated for the Silver Archer national award in developing public relations.
Roman Volodin, Chief Commercial Officer at Tele2:
“Tele2 has always been trying to change status quo at the telecommunications market by making the cost of mobile services and strengthening competition. This often required such qualities as strong intention and determination in fighting stereotypes. That is why we are holding Chestfest – the holiday that has been masterminded by Tele2 but is supported by the common efforts of residents living in the participant cities. Such festival is a good chance for local designers, cooks and musicians to make a statement about themselves. I am sure that gifted, creative and indifferent Russians will gladly support the project.”
